The Metal Kick Continues
I've been on a serious metal kick for the last few days. This little diddy is a logo I made for my tumblr blog, which is a decidedly un-metal music blog. The inspiration behind this logo came as I was looking at pictures of snowflakes. The image I used for this logo struck me as uber-grim, so decided to run with that theme. I edited the image down to a bare bones outline and then added a few layers of color with varying opacity. The image in the center is an old wood cutting of leviathan (an ancient sea monster) which I feel adds another dimension to the logo. I added a light bevel to the leviathan image to pop it out a little. The font used is Tarjan.

Dreams...
I REALLY want to open a heavy metal coffee shop here in Austin. This is just a little something I made to satisfy my daydreaming for the time being.

Business Cards
I designed this simple business card for personal use. I modified a stock image by altering the color by adding a rectangle on a new layer, with an opacity of 50%. I also used a film grain filter to make it a little extra gritty. The fonts I used are Orator Std and Franklin Gothic Book (in italics). I added colored drop shadows to each line of text to make them pop. All in all, I am happy with the results. Now to get them printed!
